(WL-1337) Slayer Band Fullprint T-Shirt
Slayer was formed in 1981 in Huntington Park, Los Angeles, California. The Band was formed by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King when they met at a tryout for a local band. Tom Araya soon joined on bass and vocals, and drummer Dave Lombardo joined last later in 1982. They played in a style reminiscent of early Exodus, influenced heavily by punk acts Minor Threat, Stooges and Heavy Metal bands Venom and Judas Priest.
The band was credited as one of the “Big Four” thrash metal bands, along with Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth. Slayer’s musical traits involve fast tremolo picking, guitar solos,
double bass drumming, and shouting vocals. The band’s lyrics and album
art, which cover topics such as death, deviants, suicide, genocide,
necrophilia, insanity, Nazism, religion, Satanism, serial killers, and
warfare have generated album bans, delays, lawsuits and strong criticism
from religious groups and the general public.
Slayer is best known for speaking through perspective without being necessarily sympathetic to the cause of their inspiration. Since their debut record in 1983, the band has released two live albums,
one cover album, one box set, three DVDs, one VHS, two EPs, and eleven
studio albums, four of which have received gold certification in the
United States. The band has received three Grammy nominations, winning
one in 2007 for the song “Eyes Of The Insane”, and one in 2008 for the song “Final Six”. They have headlined music festivals worldwide, including Unholy Alliance and Ozzfest.

(WL-1336) Arch Enemy Band T-Shirt
Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Halmstad, Sweden, formed in 1996. Founded by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, both originally from the influential death metal band Carnage.
The band has released seven studio albums, a live album (Burning Japan
Live 1999), two DVDs and three EPs. The band was originally fronted by
Johan Liiva, who was replaced by Angela Gossow as lead vocalist in 2000
Arch Enemy, the brainchild of Michael Amott (Carcass, Carnage, and Spiritual Beggars) was originally assembled when Michael Amott left Carcass. Guitarists Michael Amott and younger brother Christopher Amott (Armageddon) joined with vocalist Johan Liiva (ex-Carnage, Furbowl, Furbowl|Devourment) and then-session drummer Daniel Erlandsson (Eucharist) in what Michael Amott called “an attempt to merge melody with aggression and technicality.” The band’s debut, entitled Black Earth
was recorded at Studio Fredman and released by the now defunct Wrong
Again Records in 1996. It obtained a fair amount of success in Japan,
achieving MTV rotation with their first single “Bury Me an Angel”, as
well as moderate success in Sweden. At this point, Arch Enemy was more
of a “solo effort” than a full band: Michael Amott wrote all the songs
himself, and even played bass guitar on the album, contrary to the
album’s liner notes, which listed vocalist Johan Liiva as handling bass
duties. Amott later revealed that he had the credits listed that way to
make the album seem more of a “band” effort.

(WL-1335) Heaven Shall Burn Band T-Shirt
Heaven Shall Burn was formed in autumn 1996, under the name ‘Consense’.
With the recording of their second demo in early 1997 the band changed
their name to ‘Heaven Shall Burn’. The name is taken from a Marduk album titled “Heaven Shall Burn… When We Are Gathered”.
In an interview with the band at decoymusic.com, the band said: “It’s
not that we’re huge Marduk fans, but we liked the name. It sounds a bit
provoking and so people ask us again and again for the meaning behind
our name. It has been like that since the very beginning.
We use the term “heaven” as a metaphor for some kind of
a fake paradise that people create in their heads. Some people close
their eyes and don’t see the truth surrounding them. So this kind of
fake heaven should burn. Some people might think that our name is an
anti-religious statement, but it isn’t.” In 1998 the band released an MCD entitled “In Battle There Is No Law”
followed by a split-LP with “Fall of Serenity” in 1999. Following these
releases the band signed to Lifeforce Records for their 2000 debut album
“Asunder”. It was followed by a split-CD with their long-time friends
Caliban in 2000 as well as 2002’s album “Whatever It May Take”. In 2002,
“In Battle There Is No Law” was re-released through Circulation
Records. Upon the release of ‘Whatever it May Take’ , Heaven Shall Burn toured
through England and South-America, and finally to Iceland. There they
met Olà fur Arnalds, who wrote three classical interlude parts for their
album ‘Antigone’.

(WL-1334) "Hi, How Are you" Daniel Johnston Artist T-Shirt
Daniel Johnston born January 22, 1961 in Sacramento, California. Is a prolific American singer-songwriter and artist. He has been classified as an outsider musician. His songs are typically painfully direct, and often display a disturbing
blend of childlike naïvete with darker, “spooky” themes. Johnston’s
singing voice is rather high-pitched, and his performances often seem
faltering or uncertain; one critic writes that Johnston’s recordings
range from “spotty to brilliant”. He also draws and paints; he is a cult
comic book artist and his illustrations have been featured with most of
his albums. Johnston was born in Sacramento, California
and grew up in West Virginia, United States, but now lives in Waller,
Texas. Johnston suffers from manic depression, and has had varying luck
with different treatments. He has been institutionalized for periods. In the late 1970s, Johnston began recording his songs on a $59 Sony
Boombox, singing and playing either guitar, piano or harmonica. He gave
tapes of his music to anyone who would take them. Johnston created the
comic book inspired art that usually accompanied his own recordings. His
debut recording Songs Of Pain was released in 1980. His early songs established a number of themes that would persist
through Johnston’s career: Unrequited love, Casper the Friendly Ghost,
and comic book superheroes, especially Captain America and Jack Kirby’s
other works. “Joe” a partly autobiographical character has been featured
in a number of songs. Johnston has cited The Beatles as a prime influence.

(WL-1333) Sonic Youth Band T-Shirt
Sonic Youth was an influential experimental rock
band which formed in New York City, New York, United States in 1981 and
are curently on an indefinite hiatus. The last lineup consisted of Thurston Moore (vocals, guitar), Kim Gordon (vocals, bass, guitar), Lee Ranaldo (vocals and guitar), Steve Shelley (drums) and Mark Ibold (bass). In their early career, Sonic Youth was associated with the no wave art and music scene in New York City.
Part of the first wave of American noise rock groups,
the band carried out their interpretation of the hardcore punk ethos
throughout the evolving American underground that focused more on the
DIY ethic of the genre rather than its specific sound. As a result,
Sonic Youth was pivotal in the rise of the alternative rock movement. Sonic Youth have expressed a wide variety of influences, ranging from the influential protopunk musician Patti Smith to composer John Cage.
The band has been praised for having “redefined what rock guitar could
do”, using a wide variety of unorthodox guitar tunings, and preparing
guitars with objects like drumsticks and screwdrivers to alter the
instruments’ timbre.
